Welcome to IDAHO AUTISM
Currently there is an epidemic in the number of children being diagnosed with an Autism Spectrum Disorder. In Idaho alone the increase in reported number of cases cumulative growth for ages 6-22 has increased from 1993-2007 by 2800%. Every 20 minutes another child is diagnosed with autism. Autism is on the rise and families are struggling to understand what intervention would work best for their child or family member.
As most of us know the web is inundated with several web sites discussing autism, but focusing more on the cause and possible cure. We felt that there was a great need for a web site that shows what the different interventions are and where you can find those providers and therapist. We have learned through our many years of struggling with helping our own son that it truly takes a team of professionals and family members, working together, to create a successful plan.
Families must keep a steady flow of teaching and reinforcement going at all times. It is possible with the right intervention and with well trained and professional therapist working with your child that you can improve a child’s prognosis enormously. Some children will become indistinguishable from their peers. This does not happen overnight and there is no quick fix to getting this outcome other then lots and lots of work, a well planned schedule and team working together, but it is possible. Autism is treatable, but you need to act. Things can change and they can get better with the right help and with always remembering to have HOPE.
